Researches and conservationists continue to study the reasons for two species of vultures found in Nilgiris most of them are abandoning one of their prime nesting in Sigur plateau since 2016, The researches have seen increase in nesting activity along the slopes of Ebbanad and Kodanad indicating that the birds have found a new place for their nesting and are forced to leave. This research was studied by the Ramakrishnan assistant professor from the departmenrt of wildlife biology Government arts college in Ooty he has been researching the nesting habits of the four species found here they are white rumped vulture, red headed or Asian King vulture, long billed vulture and Egyptian vulture since 2011. He said that he had first noticed that white rumped and long billed vulture decline in nesting since 2014. The reason for abandoning of vultures from grounds being studied most of reason will be the because of the human disturbance that causes the collions from the ground. From the observations it is said that birds are abandoned the nesting site in Siriyur and began to collide in slopes of Ebbanad and Kodanad place were less number of human population. So the reseachers are still in study behind the abandoned of the nesting in Nilgiris.
