If you visit Ooty, you must visit the Mukurthi National Park, which is one of the most wonderful places in an already lovely hill station. Located in the western piece of the Nilgiri Plateau in the Western Ghats, this public park is one of Ooty’s greatest prides. The park was established in 2001, on twelfth December, and is spread over a zone of 78.46 square kilometers. Because of its vast reserve of fauna and verdure, this site has been pronounced a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 2012. Most of the landscape in the reserve is covered with shrubs and mountainous grasslands.
