Situated a good ways off of 10 km from Ooty, Doddabetta translates to ” Big Mountain” where Dodda means Big and Betta means mountain. You can view the entire Nilgiri Mountains from this picturesque peak because of its strategic location between Eastern and the Western Ghats.
