The 140 year old Nilgiris Wildlife and Environment Association which is the oldest of its kind in the country is facing a closure when asked about it to the Ms.J.Innocent Divya the Collector of Nilgiris who is also honorary president of the NWEA said that she id waiting for the order from the court into being a 1877 as Nilgiris game association and became the NWEA since 1976. However the groupism, internal politics and infighting marred the association of recent times and this was reflected by the scenes of some members from 2012 and race complaint against each other. In the year 2015 NWEA affairs reached the high court over some issues and 10 executive commitee members submitted their resignations to the district collector which was displeasure over the present state of affairs of NWEA. When asked about the recommended dissolution of NWEA she declined to tell all details and added that she has submitted a report to the High court as litigation is pending in the court and she is waiting for the instruction from the court. So there are many chance of closing of the 140 year old wildlife association.
