A student from the Crescent Castle Public school has won the National Space Science Essay competition organised by Go4Guru and The Hindu. The student named S.kaniishk bagged the first place in India for his essay which narrated about “Meeting an alien on Mars”. In this competition more than 3000 students submitted their essays online in which 500 were short listed by their faculty members from the Education Department after the selection process they sent the selected ones to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration(NASA) in the United States of America. Out of the short listed 500 essay Kaniishk won the first prize in India and was deemed a “National Winner”. Kaniishk is to atten the International Space Science Conference at NASA in November this year. The seven day trip has been organised by the authorities of the competition. Five other students from the school were awarded medals and certificates were provided to them for being chosen as among the top 300 essays.
